The Voyager 1 probe was launched in 1977 to take a look at the farther reaches of the solar system. It's been moving at 38,000 MPH (that's about 11 miles every second) for a period of 35 years and 5 months which means it's more than 11 Billion miles from earth. How far is that in space distances you ask?

In light years it's about 16 hours. That's 2/10s of 1% of a light year.
It will need another 2,200 years to reach the nearest star.
Another 13 million years to reach the nearest galaxy.
