Apparently the latetst Chrome browser update doesn't support Java, so you have to do this:
Some plugins may not load as we are no longer supporting NPAPI plugins on Chrome version 42 and higher by default. For more information, please see our blog announcement.
There is a temporary workaround if you want to run a NPAPI plugin:
Go to chrome://flags/#enable-npapi
Choose Enable.
In the bottom left corner of your screen, click Relaunch Now.
This change will allow you to run NPAPI plugins until Chrome version 45. After Chrome 45, you will have to use an alternate web browser to load content that requires a NPAPI plugin.
