Post subject:  My new game writing policy

You know, I usually put a lot of work into making my games friendly to people of varying ages, backgrounds and locations. I rely heavily on questions like music, literature, movies, geography, mythology, science and technology, etc as they tend to not favor older or younger, here or there. A 20 year old in California and a 50 year old in London have access to the same movies and the same bestsellers will be in the shops. They'll both have heard of the Rolling Stones and Eminem, they'll know the planets and the elements and the the fundamental forces of nature, they'll use the same maps showing the same continents, the same world capitals and the same Icelandic volcanoes etc. I use very little TV, no local politics, very little national politics, no more than 1 or 2 sports questions and then I favor stuff like Olympics and golf/tennis majors which are more international. If any US-Centric questions creep in it's something on the order of 4 or 5 questions in a 42 question game. 10% seems eminently reasonable for a room that's 75% or more U.S. players most games. But still that's not good enough for some people who continue to complain and yet don't have the courtesy to even make an effort to do fair games in return. So I'm done wasting my time trying to write games that are accessible and playable to everyone no matter where they live. Too much work, too little reward. From this point on not the slightest attempt will even be made to write games that are internationally friendly. Instead of working my ass off to keep things to 10% US-centric I don't care if they're 50% American or even 90% American. In fact, the game tonight one is 100% American. Complain away.
