To score, there are several options.  You can score on paper, using tick marks or use the
spreadsheet provided on the total-trivia web site.

If you wish to use the spreadsheet, follow these instructions:

I.                    Open the spreadsheet with Microsoft Excel.   If you get any message about macros,
make sure you enable them under 'tools', then 'macro,' then 'security' (click on medium level).  If
you get a security message with “Options” at the top of the spreadsheet, then select it and
enable content.   The macros are not required, but they do make things easier. (see below)

II.                  Note that you can size the window so you can see both the trivia window and the
spreadsheet.   Alt-Tab can be used to go back and forth between the windows.  Be careful to
return to the trivia window or your answers will be typed in the spreadsheet, and you will not
get any credit for them!

III.                Enter the names of the people in Column B under Names.  After you enter the
names, you can click on control and 'n' to sort by name.  If you haven’t enabled macros, this is
the same as selecting the entire sheet and sorting on column B.

IV.                Enter scores for each question under the appropriate column.  If scoring is 1-1-1, for
instance, enter 1’s in column D for the first question for the people the host points out.  If the
scoring is 3-2-1, you enter 3, 2 and 1 in the appropriate cells.

V.                  Note that you can move the bottom scroll bar over to make the current column that
you are scoring for nearer the names.  The names and totals will not scroll.

VI.                Do not enter anything in column C.  These are formulas that automatically total the
scores.  You can use these to see who is ahead during a game

VII.              When the game is over, hit control and 't'  to sort the list by total (column c).  if you
do not have macros enabled, then this is the same as selecting the sheet and sorting by column
c.

VIII.            Select or highlight the player column down to the last player.  Copy the cells using
the pull down menu command 'copy' or use ctrl-c.  Alternately, you can select B1 through C-x if
you do not want to include the rank.

IX.                Paste into your total trivia chat window by typing 'control' and 'v' .   NOTE:  practice
this before you actually score.  If you have any problems, you can ask BobC or someone to help
you cut and paste.

That’s it!  Feel free to ask questions.
